Getting from Here to There

Team Registration is now closed.
We are pleased to announce that we have a full roster of teams for this year!

If you are interested in entering a team for next year please contact us for more details and please feel free to check out the activities for the 9th Annual Canstruction Event

Where: Southcentre Mall, Centre Court
55 Anderson Rd SW, Calgary

When: Build day is Thursday, March 13
Sculptures are on display to the public from March 14-March 21, 2014. On March 21, we tear 'em down, pack 'em up and off to the food bank they go!

Trust us, you will never look at cans the same way! Best part? All the food is donated to the Calgary Food Bank

From there to here, from here to there, cool CANsculptures are everywhere.

Watch Calgary engineers and builders--
who have quite a knack--turn cans into artwork...
it's a balancing act!
Would they, could they, build a car?
A train from tuna ? Now that's bizarre.

A boat from beans? A plane from peas?
How do they do it? Tell me please.
If you've never experienced Canstruction Calgary, we think you should. This event is fun and fun is good.

Canstruction® Calgary is an amazing competition using canned food and other non-perishable items as building blocks.

The event brings together multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, designers, architects and builders to create extraordinary structures, which are judged, exhibited to the public and then de-canstructed, with all food going to the Calgary Inter-Faith Food Bank. Since 2006, Canstruction® Calgary has provided nearly 300,000 pounds of food to needy Calgarians. Canstruction® Calgary is the local chapter of Canstruction, a global anti-hunger project, founded by the Society for Design Administration, an affiliate organization of the American Insitute of Architects. Founded more than 10 years ago, the event is now held in more than 100 cities around the world.

Hey these fine companies are part of Canstruction 2014. Come down to Southcentre Mall on March 13th to see how engineering and creativity CAN make a difference to Calgarians.
